Biography.

 

Every mission has a beginning.

For RESCUES ON85TH, that beginning was a miniature toy poodle named the actor "Kurt Russell". He was found abandoned on 85th Street in Birmingham, Alabama during a routine dog walk. What first appeared to be a chance encounter, soon became the beginning of something far greater. With help from the local community, food, grooming, vaccinations, and care gave him a new life.

 

During his recovery, Lisa Marie's (founder) son named him Kurt Russell after watching the Kurt Russell film, Escape from L.A. His story inspired the creation of RESCUES ON85TH, a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to supporting families and their FAMs, furry family members, (dogs, cats, horses, reptile, birds, and more through food assistance, health initiatives, education, and community partnerships.

 

Today, Kurt Russell serves as the official ambassador of RESCUES ON85TH, representing every program, partnership, and family the organization serves. He also leads "The Fetch," the organization's product review and consumer education initiative. Through honest product testing and real-world reviews,

 

The Fetch aims to help families make informed purchasing decisions for their companion animals.

 

Mission statement, to improve the lives of individuals, families, and their FAMs (furry family members) by providing trusted resources, practical support, honest product guidance, and compassionate community programs that help keep families together.

 

Inspired by Kurt Russell's journey, RESCUES ON85TH believes that every family deserves access to reliable information, essential resources, and products they can trust. Every review, every program, and every act of service reflects the same purpose that started it all; one rescue, one mission, countless lives changed.
