Our Partnerships: Strengthening Communities Together

At RESCUES ON85TH, we believe that addressing food insecurity is a community effort. By joining forces with organizations dedicated to improving the lives of both people and their pets, we are able to tackle this challenge from all angles. Our partnerships ensure that food and essential supplies reach those who need them most—whether it's humans or their furry family members.

Collaborating for Change

Here’s a closer look at our dedicated partners and their roles in helping us achieve a healthier, more secure future for families in our community:

  1. Greater Good Charities
Greater Good Charities is a national organization committed to improving the lives of animals through direct relief, education, and rescue efforts. As a partner, they provide us with critical pet food and supplies, which we distribute to families in need. Their support has allowed us to serve thousands of pets, ensuring they remain well-fed and cared for, alongside their human family members.

  2. Birmingham Humane Society
The Birmingham Humane Society is a well-respected local organization that works to protect and improve the lives of animals. They promote adoption, animal welfare, and education throughout the region. Our partnership with them extends to offering pet food and supplies, ensuring that animals in vulnerable households are cared for, regardless of their owners' financial situation.

  3. United Way
United Way is a nonprofit organization that mobilizes communities to improve the health, education, and financial stability of individuals and families. Through our partnership, we’ve been able to access vital resources, including food for families and supplies for their pets. By working together, we can reach more people who are struggling with food insecurity and ensure their whole family is supported.

  4. One Roof
One Roof provides emergency housing and assistance to individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Through our partnership, we provide food and pet supplies to those in need, helping to stabilize households facing hardship. By combining our efforts, we ensure that both people and pets receive the nourishment they need to get back on their feet.

  5. Matthew 3525 Food Bank
Matthew 3525 Food Bank provides food and resources to those experiencing economic hardship, with a focus on supporting families in need. Through our collaboration, we distribute human and pet food to help families maintain their well-being. Their local presence and dedication to supporting vulnerable populations make them an invaluable partner in our mission to alleviate food insecurity.

  6. Grace Klein Food Bank (Past Partnership)
Grace Klein Food Bank is a nonprofit organization that works to meet the needs of those struggling with food insecurity. Although our partnership has ended, the collaboration we shared helped provide food and pet supplies to households in crisis. The support from Grace Klein helped us extend our reach, and we are grateful for the impact it made during our time together.

  7. BJCC CityWalk Dog Park
Located in the heart of Birmingham, BJCC CityWalk Dog Park is a community gathering place for pet owners and their furry companions. Through our collaboration, we provide pet food and supplies to individuals and families who frequent the park. This initiative helps ensure that pets remain healthy and happy, while owners receive essential support for their pets’ well-being.

  8. DoorDash and Food Mart Delivery Service
Through our partnership with DoorDash and Food Mart, we’re able to offer on-demand delivery services to those in need. These services provide food and pet supplies directly to families who may not have transportation, ensuring they receive the nourishment they need, even when getting to a food bank or store is a challenge. This partnership makes food access easier and more convenient for those in crisis.

Comprehensive Support for Families and Companion animal

Through the combined efforts of these incredible organizations, we distribute over 340 pounds of food each year—split between human and pet food. By providing groceries for families and pet food for their furry family members, we ensure that the entire household is supported. Whether it’s through direct deliveries via DoorDash, community food banks like Matthew 3525, or partnerships with local organizations such as Birmingham Humane Society, we strive to reduce food insecurity for both people and animals.

Looking Ahead: Expanding Our Impact

As we continue to grow, we remain committed to deepening our relationships with these partners and forging new ones. The goal is simple: to ensure that no one goes without the essentials they need, and that pets are treated as integral family members, supported in the same way as their human companions.

With United Way, Greater Good Charities, One Roof, and all of our partners, we are united in our mission to create stronger, more resilient communities. We are excited about what the future holds as we continue to expand our efforts to meet the needs of families facing food insecurity—both human and animal alike.
