Program Needs

At RESCUES ON85TH, our mission is to provide essential support to the furry family members of families in need. However, like many nonprofits, we rely heavily on the generosity of our community and partners to sustain and expand our services. Currently, we have specific needs that, with your support, will allow us to continue making a positive impact on the lives of both animals and their families.

Current Program Needs:

1. Pet Food Donations:

   • We distribute over 340,000 pounds of food annually to families in need. Your donation of pet food helps us keep animals well-fed and healthy, reducing the burden on struggling families.

   • How you can help: Donate dry food, wet food, or even pet treats to support our ongoing food distribution efforts.

2. Spay/Neuter Services Funding:

   • One of our main goals is to reduce the overpopulation of animals and prevent unnecessary euthanization. We offer low-cost spay/neuter services to families that might otherwise not be able to afford it.

   • How you can help: Contribute to our fund for spay/neuter services, ensuring more animals are altered, leading to a healthier and more sustainable community.

3. Veterinary Care Assistance:

   • Many of the families we serve are unable to afford basic veterinary care. We need funding to provide vaccinations, flea treatments, and emergency care for animals in need.

   • How you can help: Make a donation to our veterinary care fund, which helps cover the cost of essential medical treatments for the furry family members in our programs.

4. Transportation Support:

   • Due to our central location, many families who rely on us for support are unable to travel to pick up food or receive services. We're working to provide transportation solutions to get supplies and services to those in need.

   • How you can help: Donate funds to help us cover transportation costs, ensuring families can access the resources they need.

5. Volunteers:

   • Volunteers are the backbone of our operations. Whether it’s helping distribute food, assisting with events, or providing administrative support, we rely on volunteers to keep our programs running.

   • How you can help: Volunteer your time to assist with tasks at the food pantry, events, or administrative support. Your time is invaluable to our mission.

6. Wishlist Donations:

   • You can also support our efforts by purchasing items directly from our wishlists. These items are essential to our day-to-day operations and will be delivered straight to us, helping us meet the growing needs of the community.
