Program Description

(N1) Nutrition One is dedicated to addressing food insecurity by providing nutritious meals to FAMs (Furry Family Members) in households experiencing financial hardship. Our program operates with a singular mission: to serve FAMs and diminish food insecurity within households where their human families struggle to provide this basic necessity for their beloved companions.

In many cases, FAM families find themselves sharing their own meals to ensure their FAMs are provided with nutritious meals, highlighting the dire need for assistance. Additionally, FAMs often serve as the only comfort for the elderly and disabled, providing invaluable emotional support to those who are homebound. Recognizing the profound benefits that FAMs bring to their families' emotional well-being, our pantry program extends its reach to ensure that both FAMs and their families receive the care and resources they need to thrive.

Through our dedicated efforts and the support of our community, we endeavor to alleviate this burden by providing nutritious meals for FAMs in need. Our distribution methods include a mobile truck and delivery service within a 10-mile radius of multiple locations in Jefferson County, Alabama, ensuring accessibility to those facing barriers to transportation or mobility challenges.
